Tragic Lightning Incident Claims Two Lives in Deoria District
A major accident occurred in Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh due to lightning which resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The victims included a temple priest, Radheshyam Giri, aged 50, and Rajnath Kushwaha, 40, who was struck by lightning while working in his fields. The incident took place on a rainy Sunday afternoon around 1 pm in Gopalpur village of Kotwali police station. The priest and several others were seeking shelter in the temple when lightning struck, resulting in the priest’s untimely death and injuring seven others.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and took custody of the bodies for post-mortem examinations. The injured individuals were rushed to the medical college for treatment, where they are currently receiving medical care. The tragic accident has caused chaos and grief in the families of the deceased, who are now grappling with the sudden loss of their loved ones. District Magistrate Akhand Pratap Singh assured that the families of the deceased and the injured individuals would receive government assistance in accordance with the established rules to help them cope with the aftermath of the incident.
