An unconventional romantic comedy, When the Camellia Bloom. The series follows the lives of Gong Hyo-Jin, Kang Ha-Neul, Jung-Ga-Ram, and Kim Ji-Seok as they interact with Dong-Baek (Gong Hyo-Jin), a single mom and bar owner in Ongsan who is the subject of constant rumours due to the fact that she serves alcohol to men. Hwang Yong-sik (Kang Ha-Neul), a police officer, falls deeply in love with Dong-Baek despite the town’s false rumours to the contrary. Meanwhile, Dong-ex-boyfriend, Baek’s the basketball player Kang Jong-Ryeol (Kim Ji-Seok), comes back into her life. The performers’ chemistry and the show’s clever blend of romantic comedy and suspense thriller are two of the show’s many strengths.

Prison Playbook is an excellent series to watch in its whole if you enjoy dark comedies. The TV show Stranger has everything you might want in a suspenseful thriller. Prosecutor Hwang Shi-Mok (Cho Seung-Woo), who suffered a brain injury as a youngster and now struggles to empathise with others, is at the centre of this drama starring Bae Doo-Na and Cho Seung-Woo. Soon after, he joins forces with the kindhearted police lieutenant Han Yeo-Jin (Bae Doo-Na) to unravel a murder mystery. As the two set out to identify the perpetrator, they stumble onto evidence of systemic corruption. The show is well-executed, with an interesting and compelling storyline.
