The Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has provided 16 installments to farmers, with the 17th payment to be made after the Lok Sabha elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently deposited Rs 2,000 as part of the 16th payment, totaling Rs 21,000 crore. Only farmers who have completed KYC will receive the 17th payment.

To prevent fraud, the government has made KYC mandatory for beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Farmers can complete this process through OTP online or by visiting a Common Service Center. Completing KYC on the PM Kisan website is free of charge.

Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the central government provides Rs 6,000 annually to farmers in three installments. The amount is directly deposited into the bank accounts of the husband or wife. The first installment is distributed from April to July, the second from August to November, and the third from December to March.

Farmers can complete KYC at home using the PM Kisan website by entering their Aadhar number and verifying it with an OTP sent to their registered mobile number.
