Delhi Police arrested Vibhav Kumar for assaulting Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal at CM House after receiving tips that he was at the Chief Minister's residence. Many teams were involved in searching for Vibhav before his arrest. The IP address of the email he sent to Delhi Police was traced by them, leading to his capture at the CM residence.

Swati Maliwal made serious allegations against Vibhav Kumar in her FIR, claiming he physically assaulted her when she went to meet Arvind Kejriwal at his office. She detailed the attack, mentioning how Vibhav slapped her multiple times, pulled her shirt buttons, and kicked her while she was in pain. Swati reported the incident to 112 and was threatened by Vibhav before security personnel asked her to leave the premises despite her injuries.

After being attacked, Swati sat outside the CM residence in pain before leaving on an auto. She later returned to the Civil Lines police station to report the incident, but did not file a written complaint initially due to her state. Vibhav Kumar returned with security personnel to ask Swati to leave the CM camp office after the assault.
