Rahul Gandhi Alleges Defence Minister Lied About Compensation to Agniveer's Family
Rahul Gandhi accused Defence Minister Rajnath Singh of lying in Parliament about the compensation given to the families of martyred Agniveers. He called for an apology from Singh over this issue. However, the statement from ADG PI of the Indian Army has shed light on the matter, stating that Agniveer Ajay Kumar, who lost his life during duty, was given a final farewell with full military honors. The post from ADG PI also mentioned that Rs 98.39 lakh has already been paid to Agniveer Ajay's family.
Indian Army's Statement Confirms Financial Assistance to Agniveer's Family
The ADG PI clarified that, as per the Agniveer scheme, Agniveer Ajay Kumar's family will receive financial assistance and other benefits totaling around Rs 1.65 crore. He emphasized that the Indian Army deeply respects the sacrifice made by Agniveer Ajay Kumar and is committed to providing support to his family. It was also mentioned that an additional Rs 67 lakh will be paid after police verification, in accordance with the provisions of the Agniveer scheme.
