Eight People Booked for Robbery in Aligarh Mob Lynching Case

Eight people, including the deceased Mohammed Farid, have been booked for robbery in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, following a complaint filed by a mother of one of the accused in the mob lynching case. Farid, aged 35, was beaten to death by a mob in Mamu Bhanja area on June 18, leading to communal tension in the area. The lynching resulted in a case being registered against seven people, with six already arrested. The mother of one of the accused, Rahul, filed a complaint alleging robbery which led to the registration of an FIR.

Accusations of Attempted Molestation and Robbery

According to the complaint filed by Rahul's mother, Farid, also known as Aurangzeb, allegedly broke into their house on the night of the incident, attempted to molest her, and then robbed them of valuables. When confronted by family members, Farid fell down the stairs, sustaining fatal injuries that led to his death. Apart from Farid, the complaint named Salman, Mohammad Zaki, and six others. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under sections 354 and 395 (robbery) of the IPC against the deceased and the other accused.

Details Revealed by the Police

Circle Officer Rakesh Kumar Sisodia stated that recent facts led to a robbery case being registered against the named individuals. He clarified that the deceased's family had previously lodged a complaint stating that Farid was returning from work when locals suspected him of theft and attacked him. Superintendent of Police M Shekhar Pathak mentioned that upon police arrival at the scene, Farid was severely injured and subsequently succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
