Safety Measures for Kanwar Yatra and Muharram
Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar recently held a meeting with officials to discuss the security arrangements for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra and Muharram. He emphasized the importance of creating a security plan with the help of digital volunteers and civil defense for the procession routes of both events. The DGP emphasized the need to stick to existing traditions and ensure that the routes for the Kavad Yatra are thoroughly checked beforehand to prevent any disruptions.
In addition to this, Kumar ordered the deployment of additional police forces in mixed population areas and hotspots to maintain peace and order during the events. He stressed the importance of keeping a strict vigil on any potential troublemakers and increasing the presence of law enforcement officers in sensitive areas to prevent any incidents from occurring. It was also emphasized that security measures should be increased at sensitive locations, and CCTV cameras along the procession routes should be kept active to monitor the situation closely.

Furthermore, officials were instructed to increase security at key locations such as railway stations and bus stands to ensure the safety of participants and the general public. The implementation of the zone sector scheme was encouraged to streamline security measures and increase checking at the most sensitive areas. The DGP also highlighted the importance of monitoring internet media round the clock to stay ahead of any potential threats or disruptions.
Orders were also given to monitor sensitive locations using drone cameras and PTZ cameras to enhance surveillance capabilities. Additionally, strict action was advised in response to any rumors spreading on social media platforms to maintain peace and prevent panic among the public. The emphasis on utilizing advanced Technology and closely monitoring the situation reflects the authorities’ commitment to ensuring a safe and peaceful environment during the upcoming Kanwar Yatra and Muharram events.
